My recurring illusions of grandeur: (1) winning a state-level chess tournament, (2) winning the World Championship of Public Speaking, and (3) playing Flight of the Bumblebee on the guitar at the Annual Flatpicking Championship in Winfield, Kansas. An absolute deus ex machina. I threw my queenside wide open and suffered a series of poor exchanges and thought the game was lost until my bishop sac opened the door to a series of Queen-Rook imperatives that drove the White King to his knees. Very proud of this one. :)))
